Jungle Kenzo Paris

Sneaking up a teeny post before I rush back into revision mode! So much love for this Kenzo jacket right now, this statement piece instantly add a touch of personal style to any fuss-free outfits. I'm thinking denim cutoffs, boyfriend fit tees and throw on this baby, and boy you're good to go.

Snake Skin Print and Lace

The past week has been quite a rocky one taking a toll on my emotional well being. On a brighter note, I am wearing one of the bracelet designed for my new accessory line. This one is quick becoming a favorite; a teardrop crystal and white tassel attached to an over-sized gold chain - elegant and modern piece designed to compliment almost every outfit!

Zara has been offering an amazing selection of printed pants for the past few seasons (I wear the beaded pair at least twice a week, seen here), this army green pair here has subtle snake snake print and sits slightly higher on the waist. With white being my favorite color at the moment, I had to paired a white beaded top with a faux fur vest on top. A faux fur vest is so versatile (especially in black! then again its no brainer), warm and functional yet soft, its being repeatedly worn almost everyday (seen here)! Talk about cost-per-wear.

Runway: Lanvin Fall 2013

I will just abruptly say that I am not the most efficient in the time management department. This semester in uni terms, is truly when I started taking on new challenges (read: joined the surf club) and daunting assignments. Fashion wise, I am designing and starting up a accessory line! I have to pay tribute to my amazing friends for inspiring me to create pieces with natural materials (wood, crystal, glass) and I had to thrown in some modern touches with a slight twist.

And now I shall abruptly share another one of my favorite Fall 2013 runway collection. Lanvin never fails to disappoint, the house's classic style is made more notable with strong textures. To think about it, satin, fur, ruffle pieces are donned countless times by runway models, but it remains as the few pieces I'm missing to fill my wardrobe gap. Those leather gloves need to magically appear at my doorstep somehow, you know, to brighten up the typical Melbourne weather.

Going Western

Having to be infatuated with the western trend, I had to pick up this statement belt. I can see myself giving it a lot of wear given that I put on trousers a lot more frequently these days.

I for one love my seasonal items regardless of how 'in trend' or 'last season' it might appear for the seasons to come. Documenting my outfits really gave me a good idea of what I LOVE and what works for me.

Case scenario 1: These skinny jeans with beading details from Zara

The copper beading reminds me of the Rag & Bone pair modeled by Barbara Palvin on Shopbop! Girl crush alert or what. I love my skinnies and this one here stands out from the pile of black denim. The minimal line of copper beading looks impeccable paired with both gold and silver tone accessories.

J. Crew Fall 2013

Receiving J.Crew newsletters is like no other, not only they are a master at mixing prints, their jewelry line is the right amount of glitz and glam. The Fall 2013 collection is a hit for me, fun colors is the right push I need given that my wardrobe is packed with neutrals. How great is it that I can now pull out all my sleek grey separates from previous internship and wear them with fun prints and bright gloves? Talk about cost-per-wear.

I am all up for the 'spot the difference' little games, naturally analysing reoccurring patterns is a close second. Here in chilly Melbourne, I feel the need to start promoting the importance of a pair of gloves for those who don't already own a pair. A burgundy pair will shine bright like a diamond (I just HAD to) worn alongside with a cropped sleeves jacket/coat. My first baroque item was purchased last spring, in other words, the trend is here to stay, clearly I will have no trouble updating my wardrobe this fall. The print itself is a statement, I would just pair it with basics of the same hue or opt for neutral shades. Finally, another trend that will save you from the heels-no-longer-in-tact-with-feet nightmare is the almighty ankle strap. Since everyone and their cat already possess a pair of these shoes, we can now put our funds towards some Saint Laurents (ain't Laurent without Yves *sad sad face* ) .

Shopping Cart Talk: Yves Saint Laurent Ingenue

It took me quite long to consider adding these beautiful YSL (no I'm not moving on with the name change yet :( ) creation into my shopping cart. One. Oh maybe because it cost almost as much as my monthly rent. These heels are absolutely breathtaking when I first laid eyes on them, nothing has changed much ever since. I mean it is not often I gasp and go like 'who are these by?' very loudly at 2 in the morning.

Reason number two being the fickle minded person I am, I could not decide if I should go classic or go bold with the swarovski encrusted pair? Then comes the height factor - kitten heel or proper 4 inches? I did a quick search and put together a collage of style icons with the immaculate Ingenue.

Please share with me your thoughts on them! :)

Pavement's Bayswater

Topman t-shirt, Forever New maxi skirt, Mulberry Bayswater in flame, Michael Kors watch,
3.1 Phillip Lim sandals

I noticed a reoccurring pattern while browsing through pictures of my outfit today- how I seems to blend in with the pavement on more than one occasion. So I figured nothing is more fitting than this title I settled for. I kept the entire outfit pretty much muted and reserved the spotlight for the new addition to my 'mini bags group'. Small sized bags appeal so much to me that, I almost started looking for 10 part time jobs to nurse my addiction.

Isn't it absurd what one will attempt during a fashion crisis? For example, a year ago I couldn't leave the store without this printed maxi skirt, it has enough fabric to wrap around my waist twice seeing as it is a size uk12. So bizarre. With that being said, gave rise to a state of mind of 'recently disputed and now unstoppable', the skirt went home with me. Me: 1, fashion crisis: 0.

I assure you it was a happy ending, the elasticated waistband was shortened and the skirt instantly shrank to cater a smaller waistline.

Now that the 'pavement' section is out of the way, the following is on how I met my Bayswater. During my first internship, I spent a legitimate amount of hours staring at the computer (not browsing net-a-porter but PowerPoints and word documents), naturally weekends were strictly reserved for mall visits. Most of those days guarantee a trip to Celine but never once I was delighted by the selection. Luckily it was the opposite when fate led me next door. The bright, mini Bayswater was cheekily displayed at the counter and a Mastercard being handed over is all I can recall.
